Umvoto is pleased to announce that our Managing Director, Dr Kornelius Riemann, has been voted into the Groundwater Division’s (GWD) Executive Committee as the chairperson of the Western Cape Branch. The annual general meeting was held at this year’s GWD conference where the exiting committee announced that Dr Riemann had received overwhelming support from the Western Cape groundwater community. This news follows the recent talk that Dr Riemann presented at the conference where he outlined that Umvoto has commonly been at the forefront of setting best practice standards in training young professionals in an internship programme. This programme goes beyond technical skill sets by highlighting scientific principles and methodology, as well as including soft skills. We are excited to see how this platform can be leveraged to continue this ethos of excellence and progress.
