Gaolathe Masikara is an Intern with a Masters in Sustainability and Environmental Management from the University of Derby. Her dissertation was focused on exploring how climate strategies formulated by Botswana aligned with global Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda. Prior to attaining her post graduate degree, Gaolathe taught high school Biology and Environmental Awareness in Botswana.
Over the next few months at Umvoto, Gaolathe aims to learn about Environmental Compliance, Legislation and Sustainability; as well as Biodiversity and Climate Data Processing and Analysis.
Outside of her professional work, Gaolathe dabbles in Science Communication and hosts an online webinar called “Decode with Gao” where she simplifies complex environmental and sustainability concepts. She is also part of a book club and a writer’s club.
