Kopano Mokoena holds a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Water Management from Rhodes University and is currently a MSc Hydrogeology candidate at University of Witwatersrand.
With over two years’ experience in research and consulting, Kopano has been involved in a variety of local and international projects, primarily within the mining sector. These include groundwater impact assessments, groundwater supply investigations, drilling and test-pumping supervision, data processing, analysis, and interpretation, and subsequently technical report writing.
Kopano is currently affiliated with the Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA), the Ground Water Division (GWD) of Geological Society of South Africa, and a Candidate Water Resource Scientist with South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP). She aspires to play a significant role in future knowledge building, planning and management of groundwater resources, through improving current monitoring systems and integrated water resource management strategies.
