Londeka Gumede is a Hydrogeologist at Umvoto, who completed her MSc Hydrogeology degree from the University of Birmingham. She holds a BSc (Hons) in Geology and BSc Geological Sciences from the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She has previously worked as an Environmental Consultant, as a Geologist in Training and a small-scale sugar cane grower.
Londeka’s interest in groundwater resource management was initially sparked by finding and managing alternate water sources, especially for residents in rural South Africa. Her role at Umvoto includes undertaking hydrogeological monitoring fieldwork and groundwater quality assessments.
Londeka’s leisure time is spent watching Netflix and doing yoga.
