Olga Guseva is a Data Analyst with over 3 years’ experience in solving operational business challenges using data. She graduated from the University of Cape Town (UCT) with a Masters in Chemical Engineering. The focus of her research was determining the effects of mineral texture, specifically association and liberation, on the results of acid rock drainage (ARD) characterisation and prediction tests. The results of her research can be found in the Water Research Commission report and proceedings of the 11th ICARD | IMWA | WISA MWD 2018 Conference. During her time at UCT, Olga tutored undergraduate Chemical Engineering courses and taught a boot camp as an assistant lecturer. Additionally, she assisted with operating the QEMSCAN (Quantitative Evaluation of Minerals by Scanning Electron Microscopy) automated mineral analyser and supported training on the iDiscover software.
After completing her masters, Olga took a detour from research and joined Bolt, working as an operations specialist in the Cape Town team and then as an Operational Excellence Specialist and Data Analyst for the Estonian headquarter office, contributing to the operational efficiency of over 15 countries. Her expertise is in driving operational performance and processes using data, as well as building data models, optimising and automating workflows, and developing user-friendly dashboards for data insights.
At Umvoto, Olga’s focus is on optimising the existing data processes and infrastructure, enabling more efficient operations, as well supporting the team with data analysis and managing data quirks.
In her personal time, Olga enjoys upskilling her analytics and coding skills, reading, horse riding, getting involved in music, learning languages, and sharing the company of good friends.
