Rabia Manjoo is an intern in the Geospatial Department. She holds a BSc Honours degree in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing from the University of the Witwatersrand. Her Honours research “Analysis of urban sprawl dynamics using machine learning, CA-Markov chain, and the Shannon entropy model: a case study in Mbombela City, South Africa” was published in the SpringerOpen Journal in May 2024. Rabia is a registered Candidate Natural Scientist (Environmental Science Field of Practice) with the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP).
Rabia spent six months interning at African Parks in the Conservation Development Department. Her professional life is driven by a passion for preserving and understanding nature as well as her love for ecology.
Rabia has a variety of interests from puzzle building to making niche TikTok videos of painting gnomes. But Rabia’s greatest pride and joy are her seven nieces and nephews.
