Sean Harvey is a Junior Geologist at Umvoto with a BSc Honours in Earth Science: Geo-environmental Sciences from Stellenbosch University. His research focused on using electrical resistivity tomography to identify suitable borehole locations for the long-term monitoring of the interaction between eucalyptus and groundwater systems during changing climatic conditions.
During his time as an Intern at Umvoto, Sean gained real-world experience that will help him complete his Masters which he plans to start in early 2027. Sean also learned more about the role consultants have in increasing South Africa’s reliance on groundwater reserves in a sustainable manner.
Outside of Umvoto, Sean stays active by playing squash and surfing. In his spare time, he enjoys being in nature, photography, watching movies, and playing video games.
