Wiehan Swanepoel is a Hydrogeologist at Umvoto, having completed his BSc Honours from the North-West University of South Africa.
Wiehan has experience in several African countries including Namibia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Angola, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Mali where he did fieldwork and managed projects over various sectors of the economy, however, mostly focusing in the mining sector. While working in these areas, Wiehan did analytical and numerical groundwater flow and mass transport modelling as well as hydrological modelling and catchment-based assessments aiding in water resource management. Wiehan’s experience also extends into climate modelling and carbon consulting.
Wiehan’s hobbies include spending time outdoors mountain biking, hiking, whitewater kayaking, and stand up paddleboarding to name a few.
