On Friday 1st September 2023 Michaela Naude joined the Umvoto team for a work shadow experience where she spent the day doing monitoring in the Cape Flats. See photos below of her in the field. Michaela is a Grade 11 student from Reddam House Constantia. She has a keen interest in geology and is considering a career in the field.

Michaela gave some great feedback on her day at Umvoto, “My experience at Umvoto was unlike anything I had experienced before, I got to spend the day with some amazing hard-working individuals who were extremely passionate about what they do for work and got to experience what a profession in hydrogeology entailed … It was a great experience that I enjoyed and I got to experience what it would be like to be out in the field, the team was very welcoming and helped make my time with them unforgettable.”
