The University of Cape Town’s Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment is set to host an online Groundwater course, from 23-27 August, 2021. The Continuing Professional Development (CDP) course is aimed at educating a wide range of earth science and engineering professionals on the importance of groundwater, and it’s role in future water security. In line with this, the course intends to prepare participants to understand groundwater as a resource and build capacity of engineers to diversify the sources for potable water supply. A critical solution to many of South Africa’s smaller towns that solely rely on groundwater.
Umvoto Africa’s senior hydrogeologist, Luke Towers, and senior geologist, David McGibbon, will be two of the esteemed professionals that will be providing insights on various groundwater related topics.
