This past week, 17-19 August, part of our Environmental team presented at the annual International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) (virtual) conference. This year’s conference focused on “Re-thinking Integrated Environmental Management (IEM) in pursuit of the Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs)”, a concept Umvoto and The Umvoto Foundation (TUF) have been employing in recent work and hopes to continue to foster in the future. Read more about some of our work around the SDGs here:
Paul Lee, Senior Environmentalist, used this opportunity to outline how our work on groundwater is used in pursuit of and aims to further achieve the SDGs, specifically goals 6 and 13. Junior environmentalists Gemma Bluff, Damian Hans and Lionnel Ndeba used our ongoing projects, namely the aquifer/wellfield management at Atlantis, Cape Flats and Hermanus, to further compliment Paul’s overarching theme. A list of presentations and further information can be viewed on the event page for the conference.
